Most Enterprise Content Management (ECM) companies only offer exports that are compatible with their own products and services. As a Digitech Systems reseller, you can offer many different export options that comply with virtually any system. Learn about customizing exports to meet your customer needs below and take advantage of your offer’s capabilities!

Optimize your operations by choosing the export type that best suits your needs. PaperVision® Capture and PaperFlow™ both include nine unique export templates to use with various document management systems, including PaperVision® Enterprise, ImageSilo®, and Microsoft® SharePoint®.

PaperVision Capture also includes a default export template, which can be used to create and generate custom code for other export types that are not included in the product by default. This article will provide general information about the exports included in PaperVision Capture and PaperFlow. For specific information, please refer to the PaperVision Capture Administration Guide or PaperFlow User Guide.

How to Configure an Export Template

The following steps are used to configure exports in PaperVision Capture. These steps are slightly different when configuring exports using PaperFlow. Start by editing the custom code step in your job definition.

  1. From the job definitions screen in PaperVision Capture, either create a new Custom Code step or select an existing one. Right-click the step and select Properties.
  2. In the Properties of the step, left-click to highlight Step Executing under Custom Code Events [Step Level], then click the ellipses to configure one of the following export templates:
    1. SharePoint
    2. ImageSilo/PVE XML
    3. Docuware XML
    4. PaperFlow
    5. OTG Record Out
    6. Hyland OnBase
    7. LaserFiche
    8. ImageSilo/PVE Direct
    9. Image Only
    10. ASCII with Images
    11. Export Template (only available with PaperVision Capture)
  3. After selecting the export template, the export wizard will open. Select and/or fill-in the options that will best customize your export.

Note: The export wizard is a configuration tool that allows a user to configure a number of options, including setting the export output location, and converting images (if needed).

Below are examples of the tabs that allow the user to configure export options such as the output location as well as other export specific options such as Image Conversion Type options:

Other Information about Custom Export Types
  • The ImageSilo/PVE XML, ImageSilo/PVE Direct, and PaperFlow templates are intended to be used with either PaperVision Enterprise or ImageSilo.
  • The LaserFiche, Hyland OnBase, OTG Record Out, Sharepoint, and Docuware XML exports are intended to be used with those specific document management systems.
  • Utilize the Image Only export to arrange images in a customizable directory structure.
  • The ASCII with Images export creates a text file that includes all of the index values and image locations.
  • The Export Template is included for when you need to configure an export to a document management system not included in the above options. This script allows a user to write their own custom code in either C# or Visual Basic.
